Or rather, the 22 video games I can't do without (at age 23). This is going to be a static list, meaning I will not update it with time. If I leave it open, I'll make modifications obsessively. As such, I want to just leave it as is and then maybe revise it in the future if need be. Accordingly, you can expect some things to change in my mind without me updating this page. I've also limited each series to have only one entry on this list. Importantly, part of my goals here is genre diversity and replayability.
Panel de Pon (Tetris Attack) is an awesome puzzle game. It's really satisfying to get combos in it. The graphics and sound are also quite nice on both the JP and NA versions.
Absolute ownage. Freaking awesome trickshots. Fun to play with friends. Badass music and visuals.
A total return to form for the Streets of Rage series with improved and expanded gameplay mechanics and a nice hand-drawn art style.
It's Freaking Doom! Gun shotgun kills the evil guy.
Fun cutscenes and tactical gameplay. The click-clacking sound effect when you move your cursor is also nice.
One of the best video game OSTs. Excellent drifting and control. Vibey low-poly visionscapes.
If you actually, like me, have OCD, this is a game that is continuingly irritating and uncomfortable-sploding but also satisfying. It's like scratching an itch over and over again.

This game is particularly close to my heart because it was something I played as a child. When I turn on my DS lite and hear this game starting, its menu noises, I feel like Proust's narrator eating the madeline. It's by far my favorite way to play/experience the game of Yu-Gi-Oh! Infinitely replayable.
Incredible weapons and satisfying gameplay combined with a classic horror atmosphere makes this one a "winner." And everything else a LOSER!
Hot Shots Shorties (or "Everybody's Stress Buster" around the globe) is a mini-game collection. But it is the best mini-game collection to ever occupy the hands of opposable thumb-havers. It is best classified as a medication with dopaminergic effects. It is a fusion of tactile and sonic clickiness and satisfaction that puts other video games to shame.
I like the story, I love the gameplay. Atmosphere is also incredibly nice and drenched in forested dew and rain
When I say this is the greatest tennis game of all time, I seriously mean it. I've played a lot of tennis games and none have come close to the feel of this one.

Just a wonderful game. I have been absolutely glued to it for the last few months. Throwing the Pikmin is such a good feeling. Dandori Battles and Challenges are some of the most fun I can have in gaming. Collecting all the treasures is a must. Also, Oatchi is CUTE dog!
It's Freaking Ocarina of Time!!!! Best Zelda in my opinion, with the best dungeons, the awesome child-to-adult transformation, and the Seven Sages. There are almost no flaws in this game that are not mere stones at the feet of a giant.

Embodies a spirit of play and youthfulness so tantalizing that it is irresistible if you have a heart. Many do not like this game because they are accustomed to the seriousness and drama of the mainline Yakuza/Like a Dragon games. As much as I adore all those game (and I really do, as those who know me know), this is a summer vacation of levity. It is the ANTI-GRAVITY of video games - and by anti-gravity, I mean in the Nietzschean sense.
My favorite video game of all time because I have played it for almost two decades at this point and it has never gotten old. The fundamental formula of making friends with animals is what makes Pokémon great. This game has atmosphere, vibes, music, and gameplay in spades. It is the culmination of the entire series, both literally and personally, as Arceus so decided.
